Since I’m excited about all things microbiome currently, I decided an intro to microbiome testing with Onegevity would be a critical (and interesting) topic for you.
Yes, the company did reach out to me, but it was perfect timing. I started studying all about the gut microbiome both on my own and through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Gut Health Course.
Because this topic is super fascinating to me, I thought I’d bump it up a notch and dig into my own microbiome.
So, when Onegevity reached out, it felt like the right time to take this test on.
Today, I want to share more about Onegevity and the testing process.

Onegevity is the leading health intelligence platform for wellness. They empower individuals to solve health challenges and optimize performance.
Who is Onegevity and What Do They Offer?
In addition to their microbiome test, Gutbio™, they also have testing for:
- Women’s hormonal health
- High-performing adults (biohackers, executives, and athletes seeking next-level performance and optimal recovery)
- Sports teams, corporations, healthcare offices & more
- Corporate performance
Cool, right? I mean, who even knew testing could get this niche-focused?
But obviously, the test you want to know about today is the gut one, Gutbio™. In a future post, I’m going to tell you much more about the company, and how the co-founder himself is Gutsy. He has Crohn’s, and you’ll love the story.
All About Gutbio™
Gutbio is an at-home microbiome test that uses cutting-edge sequencing and artificial intelligence to provide an in-depth look at your gut health
Through this test, you will learn specifics about your immune function capabilities in the following sections (of the personalized report you’ll receive upon completion):
- Gut diversity
- SCFAs (short-chain fatty acids)
- Probiotics
- Pathogens
- Full microbial community breakdown
- And more!
You will also learn about your constipation and/or diarrhea risks, as well as your gut’s capability to produce B-vitamins based on the abundance of b-vitamin producing bacteria present.
Who is the Gutbio Test For?
Well, obviously this is the sort of test that was made for us, the Gutsy community.
But in particular, they make note of the following populations:
- Individuals experiencing constipation or diarrhea
- Those experiencing symptoms of excessive gas, bloating, abdominal pain, nausea
- Individuals with frequent heartburn
- Individuals who have family history of IBS or IBD
Again, if you are an avid (or even occasional) A Gutsy Girl reader, this is a test for you.
Now I know you’re wondering,
Well, did you take the test? If so, what were the results?
And the answer is, “Yes. Yes, I did take the test. But no, the results are not back yet. They should be any day now. And when I’m back for the next Onegevity post, I’m going to share my results with you.”
But what I want you to know is that doing this test was so easy.
Let me share with you the exact process.
How to Take the Gutbio Test
-
Order
Skip the waiting room and lab visit. Order online HERE, and the kit arrives to your door. There’s no necessary test prep. That’s right – none. And yes, even when you cannot leave the house due to any circumstances, you can still order and take this test!
-
Test
Collect a small stool sample from the comfort of your home. When I say small, I mean, it’s a super small sample; like the size of a nickel.
-
Send
You will send the sample back in the same box as you originally received. There is already pre -paid postage on it. And you can drop off the kit at any regular mailbox USPS. (Many other testing kits you have to bring somewhere a little more challenging to get to. Not this one; just the regular post office down the street.) In other words, you won’t have to have any awkward conversations with the post office (wo)man.
-
Learn
Review your AI-powered, medical professional reviewed results online in about 4 weeks. Get a download of every microorganism found in your sample. Learn exactly what is causing your symptoms.
-
Optimize
Receive personalized recommendations for diet, dietary supplements, and lifestyle habits to improve gut bacteria and whole-body health.
And, of course, the learning and optimizing parts can be coupled with my experience as a professional gut health researcher, health coach, and optimist!
I cannot emphasize enough how easy the process was.
Literally, have a BM (bowel movement, for those still studying the Gutsy Glossary!), and mail it via the USPS (i.e. regular mail).
If having a BM is problematic for you, then that’s the point – you will definitely benefit from this.
Why Gutbio’s Different
Finally, I want to touch on what makes Gutbio so great.

Hi Karan – I am checking on this for you.
