Stomach gurgling, bloat, and definitely not the good kind of bubbly!
Do you know what this is like?
Of course you do.
You might feel the above and look like this…..
That is 100% bloat.
The truth is that in all the ways I’ve strived, begged and pleaded with God to be normal, I’m not. Wish granted.
Stomach Gurgling
Click HERE to save this post for later.
My stomach has been gurgling for quite some time now.
What exactly does that mean?
It means that every single morsel I’ve eaten lately not only will have my stomach making noises, but there is so much intestinal movement to accompany it.
And the gurgling doesn’t just occur for a few minutes. It actually rarely stops.
Note: gurgling can be normal. But I know for certain this is not my normal.
Stomach Gurgling After Eating
When you’re Gutsy, eating “normal” can rarely ever truly be normal.
There is a good chance you won’t believe this, but I didn’t get that bloated by sitting around eating bonbons and gluten-filled foods for several months.
No, this happened in a matter of fewer than two weeks.
So, what do I think happened?
I’m a girl, and for the love of being a woman – that time of the month always gets the best of me. This month, I wanted:
- gluten-free oats
- 100% cacao
- peanut butter
- homemade, gluten-free and grain-free Banana Bread
- Greek yogurt
- cheese
- quinoa
That did me in. I swear. That’s all it was. (I mean, it was probably excessive, but you get the picture.)
Before I truly understood food and the effects it has on the body – my body – I would have been writing this post to you from the perspective of,
I have no idea what I did wrong. Aren’t all of those super healthy foods?
Because I now know differently, I know what’s healthy misinformation for most Gutsy women.
Bloated Stomach and Feeling Sick and Tired
Back to the basics. Today is Day 1 of my 21-day back to the basics and healing.
What am I doing?
The exact thing I preach….the 21 days from A Gutsy Girl’s Bible: a 21-day approach to healing the gut.
Why?
Because it works. I whole-heartedly believe in everything I preach, teach and share.
Better yet, maybe you need the same thing I do and want to join me?
Then, make a decision.
Decisions won’t make themselves for you, actions won’t take themselves to you.
Bloating and Gurgling Stomach Symptoms of What
Updated in 2021: Shortly after this post, I was finally diagnosed with SIBO.
SIBO can cause the bloating and gurgling stomach symptoms.
Until I had the SIBO diagnosis, I would not be able to fully heal. And even then, it took me over 4 years to fully heal and several relapses.
Today I am healed and functioning at 100%!

have you ever thought of running like a private facebook group for ten people who have purchased the book and we can do the 21 days TOGETHER? I only ask – because I would be totally interested in joining 😉 – let me know if you put this together!
But of course I have:) I just created one this weekend –> https://www.facebook.com/groups/138283566351117/ You won’t be able to see much because, like you requested, it’s “PRIVATE:)” Hope to have you join.
Oh man I can completely relate to being so bloated you look like you are preggers! I have lots of stomach issues and not sure what anything is yet. I have been experimenting with diatomaceous earth lately (food grade) to see if it helps. I go through some crazy detox when I take it though!
Blah…it’s icky, eh?! Would love to have you try the Gutsy way. I swear by it:)
You know I’m right there with you. Bloat and all. Broth is in the crockpot as I type. Xo
Yesterday I made 3 broths: ham, lamb and chicken. It’s on. xo
I was doing really well with my gut until I got the sickness that was going around. I ended up on antibiotics, prednisone and other stuff which threw my gut into a tailspin. It sorta helped my upper respiratory infection (which in turn triggered my asthma) but I could only take the meds for a few days because I felt MISERABLE. I had to detox from the junk that was supposed to make me feel better! During that time I had stopped my probiotic. Sure enough, once I got back on it and quit the other garbage my gut got better.
I swear if you look at me wrong my IBS will flare up.
I have been there, done that, with all the meds and antibiotics. I feel your frustration!
This is how I look almost every night of the week! How do you find the courage to start the 21 days? I want to do it but I have never completed any type of “program” in my life….weight watchers, sugar detox, whole 30…. There is always an excuse. And a whole lot of “I can’t!” attitude. I need mental healing more than bodily healing I guess!
You are *so* right, Mollie! The mental part of it is most of the battle. I’ll address this during one of my blog posts. Keep in mind, too, as you know (because you have the book) my program is NOT just diet. Eat. Play. Love. It’s time to remedy all of it:)
Absolutely right there! Ok I am in. I’m giving myself one week to mentally prep and will start Monday the 8th. I need this so bad I’m miserable!
