Today I want to quickly teach you how to make your own nut flour. And YES, even if you do not own a food processor.
I have had one massive “detox” month in January, and it has really helped pushed my healing forward even more.
One thing I didn’t do at all during January was bake.
I chose to spend more time cooking simple creations for A Gutsy Girl’s Bible: a 21-day approach to healing the gut.
But now it’s time to move on and….bake!
Throughout January I was gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy free, egg free and grain free.
February won’t change much (except I’m going to try adding egg yolks back in again) – even with the baking. Why? Because I’m going to experiment as much as I can with nut flour…..my own, freshly ground nut flour.
Some of the nuts I like to use when making my own include:
- Hazelnuts (Can also use raw, organic hazelnuts)
- Cashews
- Almonds
- Brazil Nuts (learn more about Brazil Nuts HERE)
- ….and more!
I made a quick video to inspire you to join me in the quest for nut-flour making.

Without a Food Processor?
Yes, that’s what makes this video different; its lack of using a traditional food processor.
Know why?
Because the reality is that not everyone has a food processor. They are not an inexpensive item to buy, so if you’re going to do it – make sure it’s something you’ll use frequently.
Back when I first came out with this video, I did not have one.
{Spoiler alert: I would go on to purchase one because I created an entire business from that single purchase. If you want those creations, you’ll find them at A Gutsy Girl’s Nut Butters HERE.}
Anyways, all you need to make your own nut flour and/or meal is a simple grinder.
I have placed the one I have “Ninja” in my Kitchen Items on Amazon HERE.
But should I use nuts?!
One question I can already hear some of you asking is,
But wait….should I even be using nuts? I thought they weren’t good for gut healing?
To address that, check out some of these posts to help decide what will be best for you:
You can use tools I’ve created like my 90-day gut healing journal and/or the book to help you dig into nuts as part of your diet even more.
Do you use nut flour vs. tradition flour in your baking? How about any questions? Is there anything you’d like to know?
