The main ingredient is, of course, the beef. Treat yourself well. You are worth a quality meat. I stopped settling for rotten meat; it has made a huge, huge difference.

This burger was made with Organic, grass-fed and no antibiotics or hormones added beef.

It was topped with the gentle sweetness of a caramelized shallot. The shallot is not typically characterized as “sweet,” but it is used in pickling and also in frying into thin strips.

If you want to get really wild and crazy for the 4th, go ahead and add in some raw cheese cubes and/or bacon avocado (fry some tiny bacon slices, add to avocado, whip, and serve –> that idea was compliments of my brother-in-law).

  4. Meanwhile, place the sliced shallots and coconut oil in a pan on medium to medium-high heat

  1. Is there a brand of meat you use that is safe? I want to find the purest type of meat with no hormones or added things. Also, is there a type of bacon that is safer than others? I have Celiac, Lactose intolerant, and leaky gut … I need pure trustworthy meat haha 🙂

    1. Hey Mandy! I totally get it:) For beef, I typically just look for beef that says: organic, no antibiotics or hormones. I find it locally at: Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Costco. I got some great stuff directly from Organic Pastures, too (http://organicpastures.com/) Online, check out: US Wellness Meats (http://www.grasslandbeef.com/StoreFront.bok). Bacon…I rarely eat because I can never find good enough bacon. But, I think they have a good one at Whole Foods. You can typically find pure ones at Farmer’s Markets (depending on where you live). Here is a good one online: http://www.grasslandbeef.com/Detail.bok?no=1186 I hope that helps!
