Looking for a sweet treat? Today I have an All Natural Creme de Menthe and Vanilla Ice Cream Shake Recipe to share.
You scream. I scream. We all scream, “ice cream.”
Not corny. The truth. At least during the summertime. Okay, or any day of the year.
I have a huge passion for ice cream. You do, too. Admit it. Creamy, thick, sweet and savory. Nothing better.

This post title is somewhat misleading. But in a good way. Not only do I have a Creme de Menthe shake recipe to share with you, I also have a vanilla one.
Because, to each taste bud is to own taste bud.
So let’s start with the Creme de Menthe.
Creme de Menthe
I was inspired to create this one from the shake my mom used to always get on the 4th of July at the Elysian, MN parade and festivities.
My mom said if she got some Creme de Menthe there would be no way I could turn down sharing it with her.
Turns out she knows me very well.
And after just two bites, lovely summertime clean-eat cheats were bouncing in my head.
I knew immediately how I could trade this dead packaged ice cream for a fresh and alive version.
Here is exactly how I did it.
Creme de Menthe Ingredients {for one}
- fresh mint, 1 leaf
- raw cacao, 1 tablespoon
- chia seeds, 1 tablespoon
- plant-based milk of choice, 1/2 cup
- pure vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
- frozen bananas, 1 medium
- sweetener of choice, if desired
Creme de Menthe Directions
- Place one very ripe banana in a blender along with all other ingredients. Blend until it reaches your desired consistency.
- If you do not have a blender, just mash the banana, then mix together all ingredients by hand, placing in the freezer until cold/firm.
Vanilla Shake
And, as an added bonus, here is the vanilla ice cream shake recipe you can try.
Vanilla Shake Ingredients {for one}
- raw cacao, 1 tablespoon (yes, I still have these in here because chocolate chips + vanilla ice cream are so good together)
- chia seeds, 1 tablespoon
- raw cacao powder, 1 tablespoon
- plant-based milk of choice, 1/2 cup
- pure vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
- frozen bananas, 1 medium
- sweetener of choice, if desired
Vanilla Shake Directions
- Place one very ripe banana in a blender along with all other ingredients. Blend until it reaches your desired consistency.
- If you do not have a blender, just mash the banana, then mix together all ingredients by hand, placing in the freezer until cold/firm.

Looks delish!!! Pinning away!
Thanks!
WOW, yummmm! I’m been making lots of banana “ice cream” with various flavors, but haven’t added mint. Pinning!
Thanks, Laura! Enjoy!
ok you lost me a little on the yonnas part, but this looks amazing and I’m looking for great clean eating recipes to share with my august participants so I’ll be linking up!
re. Yonanas. Yeah, you don’t really need to have one to blend these all up. But having one, makes it more like ice cream. Here is another Yonanas post I did: http://agutsygirl.com/2012/05/22/yonanas-protein-chunky-monkey/
Oh, yum! Just pinned and will be making soon!
looks great! I love mint ice cream
