Juicing is marching right alongside me headed into spring. It’s all part of the spring training and revive!
What do you think of when you think “juice?” Perhaps it is, “I love the juices from Jamba Juice or another similar place.” Or maybe it is, “Juicing is for major detoxing.” Or maybe even, “Juicing is too much work.”
Here is why my “juicing” days are none of the above:
I purchased my juicer a few weeks ago. I decided it was time to invest in a juicer. After my major flare-up last week, and various flare-ups during the past few years, I knew that a juicer would be a great investment. Juicing allows me to get a ton of nutrients, but without the stomach problems that typically accompany those foods when eaten raw.

I’m still dying for a Vitamix, but I settled on a Breville instead (so that I could also get my iPad2 a few days later)! I’m okay with the Breville, but I’m not in love with it. It definitely gets the job done.
This has been my favorite juice recipe so far:
I “top it off” with coconut milk.
And then I enjoy the final product.
Whatever your reason for wanting to try juicing may be, know that it reason enough. I believe in juicing for me, as a lifestyle.

You must plan for success if you want to succeed with anything and everything in life. Today I’m specifically talking about success with health, fitness, and food. One way to do this is by beginning a Sunday bake fest habit.
A Sunday bake fest (more like a cook fest, but whatever) is where we devote a chunk of time to prepping, preparing, portioning and storing most of the food for the upcoming week.
And why would we do this? So that we always have something healthy to eat on hand. You’ll avoid mindless and unhealthy snacking, wasted time cooking each day and you’ll always be stocked with your favorites!
Here are various things I do/make during my Sunday bake fests:
On Sunday nights, our fridge is full and beautiful. And come Monday morning, I am ready to eat healthy all week long!

Today I am three months gluten free!
This is an extra-special day because not only have I made it to three months gluten free, but I have also marked Day 1 and done for my next 1/2 Marathon Training Program!
I had an amazing first run today! It’s awfully chilly and dreary in Minnesota, so I took my run to the treadmill today. And that’s okay because it was just 3 miles. I never went above 6.5mph, as I’m trying my best to be very careful with training this time. When training calls for 3 miles, I keep it at that. There are days when I’ll need to do hills, intervals, and long runs. Today was not one of them, so I didn’t try to make it one.
I have not run in about a month, so I was very happy with my energy and stats according to my Nike+ SportBand:
After my run, I “rewarded” myself with a delicious salad plump-full of Romaine lettuce, blueberries, turkey, carrots and Olive Oil. (ps. I do have Strength Training today, too. I will share that workout with you tomorrow!)
I “rewarded” myself to month three gluten free by heading to get new running shoes and some BodyGlide yesterday! I have never used it before, but I heard it is miraculous. I obviously don’t need to use it while training in Minnesota right now, but I’d imagine that just as soon as I head back West I’ll be thankful I have it.
As for my new kicks, well I’ll present them to you tomorrow. I have two pairs I’m training with to prevent overuse on my favorites before the race! The only other thing I think I’ll need is my sassy “race day” outfit. Nothing flashy – just comfy, cute & extra light to make me fly.
But I have a long time to go before purchasing that! Tonight I’m just so thankful to be day one and done, and three months gluten free.
