I began The Integrative Nutrition Journal yesterday, and I am really enjoying it.
Joshua Rosenthal, the Founder and Director of IIN says this about the journal,
This approach is not about acquiring more self-discipline or willpower. It’s about personally discovering what nourishes you, what feeds you and ultimately what makes your life extraordinary.
Andrew Weil, MD states,
Journaling or expressive writing is a simple, gentle, and inexpensive healing technique. I consider it a powerful therapeutic tool to learn more about yourself and become aware of how your mind and emotions can influence you physically.
And of course, you already know I’m obsessed with journaling for gut health and healing.

What I love about the timing in all of this is that, as mentioned before, it’s 3 months.
3 months from yesterday will be December 26, 2011 – just 5 days before the New Year. In other words, 3 months until the new year.
This is exactly the way I want to finish up 2011. I desire to become aware of everything going on in my life; identifying the good and not-so-good so that I can move towards the optimal lifestyle I adore.
In school, we learn a lot about primary foods, which are all the pieces that make up our lives. Food is important, but there are so many other things that go into the healthy lifestyle.
Non-Food Healthy Lifestyle Factors
- Creativity
- Finances
- Career
- Education
- Health
- Physical Activity
- Home Cooking
- Home Environment
- Relationships
- Social Life
- Joy
- Spirituality
These are referred to as the “circle of life.”
The journal aims to touch on them all via morning intentions and evening reflections.
This 3-month daily journal will help you and achieve your wellness goals. Record what you ate, how you feel, the choices that did and did not serve and support you, and discover which lifestyle and food choices are right for you. Deconstruct your health concerns and learn to make choices that make you feel your most vibrant,
I enjoyed my time yesterday filling the sections out and taking just 5-10 minutes for myself thinking about them. Our days are filled with so much activity, movement, hustle, and bustle. It’s nice to be able to relax and enjoy life, even if just for a few minutes here and there.
Do you journal? How much time do you spend doing it a day?

This looks so fun. I’m actually speaking with a counselor tomorrow from there and thinking of starting in Nov. Looks really cool. I like that it seems really structured but manageable. I used to love journaling, but I don’t do it as much anymore (blogging fulfills that for me…except I censor my thoughts on the web lol)
Nice blog!
