Sharing is caring!

Last day of 2020, just in time for the end of 2020 bone broth chat.

2020 was a very difficult year for many. But I’m not going to pretend that it was all doom and gloom over here.

There were periods of time and stressful stretches for sure, but when I look back on 2020 I’ll never think only negative thoughts.

I’m also not leaping into 2021 thinking that any problem which existed in 2020 isn’t still here in 2021.

Why?

Because remember, things don’t change unless we change them and/or things don’t change unless our attitude about said thing changes.

And no matter what, between both of those, there is always something that can be done.

To end the year today, I want to just share the things I’m really looking forward to in 2021 in A Gutsy Girl land.

Here are the top 6 things I’m looking forward to in 2021:

  1. Burn it

Let’s start with tonight. Tonight I am taking a small piece of paper and writing all the things I desire to ditch in the coming year. Then, I’ll take the paper and burn it in our fireplace (of course I’ll have a copy of it saved as a reminder when needed!) This signifies letting go of something that no longer serves me or that I don’t want to have residence in my life.

As it relates to A Gutsy Girl, I’ll share one thing that will be written: Ditch reactivity; be proactive. I have long taught the benefits and power in being proactive vs. reactive in gut health and healing. My eyes are finally opening to the same with this business. In all situations of my life whenever I’m faced with a need to react, not only am I stressed, but everything else mis-aligns, too.

  2. 30-Day Gut Reset

This is my course produced in conjunction with Clean Eating Magazine. We were going to launch it Monday, January 4, 2021, but we have now moved it to Monday, January 11th to give everyone enough breathing space from the holiday to joining the reset. If you use my code SKHSAVE20 [HERE], you will pay less than any group course I’ve ever offered.

In addition, you will get instructional videos, cooking sessions, a whole 30-days of modules and information, and access to the private 30-day gut reset FB course group. I can promise you, I’ll likely never have a gut reset course as comprehensive as this again. And I really hope to see you there!

  3. 12 months of whole healing

How liberating it is to know that I’m spending the next year on intentional challenges with you and without focusing on meaningless gut health and gut healing tasks! That’s truly how I feel about the 12 months of whole healing challenges. I started planning for these some months ago already because I wanted to be sure they were thought out and intentional. I’m ready to see what happens each month during them.

  4. A Gutsy Girl Podcast

I resisted this one for a very long time. I’ll tell you what held me back: how would I get it started? And how would I do the tech stuff? Instead of spinning my wheels trying to figure that all out, I bought a podcast course for some basic stuff and then I hired a podcast team to make it come alive for me.

We are getting close to the first episode airing! Watch for the first full episode to air on Tuesday, January 12. Instead of getting all fancy, I just decided to keep the show title simple: A Gutsy Girl podcast.

  5. YouTube Live Show

Talk about out of my comfort zone! I began doing a lot of Instagram live’s at the end of 2020. I didn’t know just how many would connect with them, but now I do. Seeing this helped me realize that I could share more information and inspiration in far less time by going live and/or recording videos for you to consume at your leisure.

I have a wild vision for this one – a lofty and exciting goal – so stay tuned. In the meantime, you can subscribe to the brand new channel HERE. I will be going live (to begin with) weekly. The first will be on Wednesday, January 6th.

  6. The book

In 2020, creating a printed product – the 90-day gut healing journal – was huge for me. It was a scary leap of faith, but one that was probably the best business decision I made in 2020. This journal is impacting lives in a huge way, and I’m obsessed with the way it truly helps peel back layers of your own personal onion.

Not only that, but you are telling me that holding something physical in your hands is almost always better, when given the choice. I could not agree more. So I think it’s time I finally take my signature product, The Gutsy Girl’s Bible and make it a physical product. Watch for A Gutsy Girl’s Bible to release in 2021.

Because my goal for 2021 is to create more video, audio, and physical products, that does mean that I will not be publishing posts at the same rate I did this year.

But I’m okay with that because I’ll still publish 2 high-quality posts per week (vs. the 4-6 I did in 2020), while also creating in new ways to bring gut health and gut healing to people who don’t necessarily want to read posts all the time.

Personally, I’m looking forward to these 8 things in 2021:

  1. 90-day journal

You know what’s super awesome about Healing Blooms from Within? It was made for gut healing, but it’s a total health and wellness journal. Now that my stomach feels great on a daily basis, I am able to focus on other things I might question.

So I’m digging into my own journal again, and so excited for it!

  2. Winter activities

It’s not easy to get through winters in the frozen tundra. So to help ease the pain a little, I am choosing to seek out “fun” outdoors during winter. Yesterday, Ryan, Samarah and I went snowboarding and skiing. Ryan skis, and Sam and I did snowboarding. She and I took an hour lesson, and then just sort of went for it.

I haven’t snowboarded in 10 years, and yesterday was so much fun! I’m also going to get out my snowshoes this year, and maybe even lace up my hockey skates again (did you know I used to play ice hockey?!)

  3. Wedding

My “little” brother is getting married in May! We are so excited to have his fiance in our lives, and I am over-the-moon excited for them.

  4. Reading

I’m going to consume less on the Internets and read more off the Internets 🙂 I have some new books that arrived this week, and I am actually excited to learn and grow from reading more.

Reading is something I’m never interested in doing, but once I start, I can’t stop.

  5. 100 days of workouts

Now, this one might sound crazy to you. Believe me, I’m doing it for no reason other than when I did something similar this past summer, it was incredible! For the first 100 days of 2021, I’m working out every single day. And no that does not mean 100 days of high intensity, long workouts. It means at least 30 minutes of something each day.

I’m wanting to return to that habit because it makes me happier, healthier, and stronger. Currently I’m doing 2-3 days of 20-30 minutes higher intensity workouts at the gym. The other days, I’m doing the 100 day workout program via the Beachbody app. And yes, I loathe the name Beachbody, but I’m finding that particular workout program is not very hard, nor is it taxing on my body at all.

  6. Travel

If and when the Virus calms down, I have every intention of hopping on a plane and going somewhere (or many “where’s!”) in 2021. I’m craving the exploration again. Ryan and I have a hot list of places we want to go, so we’ll see what we can actually make happen.

  7. Summer

Last summer was so good! Due to the shutdown, we spent so much time (like every single day!) at the pool or on the lake. The kids got so good at swimming (well, Samarah and Isaiah anyways) and all that vitamin D was great for the soul. I am trying to live in this present winter season, but it’s so hard when summer is so good here in Minnesota! I’d love a repeat of last summer.

  8. Creating

Create is my one word for 2021. I just want to create, explore, and bring to life new things, even if I’m not great at them. Return to poetry, painting, singing, building……all of it. More creating, and less consuming.

And there it is, darling, the end of 2020 bone broth chat!

How could I possibly have such a sour mouth about 2020 when, at the end of the day, I’m still here?

I’m still here, able to do what I love 24/7, and I truly believe that I always find the silver lining in everything.

I hope the same for you.

Now, share with me your own December and/or 2021 goals, wishes, hopes, and desires in the comments. Also, any great books you read in 2020 to recommend? My jam is non-fiction and business/life.

Xox,
SKH
